The Five Reiki Principles

Mikao Usui, the founder of Usui Ryoho Reiki, encouraged Reiki practitioners to say and live the five Reiki principles – referred to as ‘Gakkai’ in Japanese – every morning and every night.

Etched on the Usui Memorial Stone this was erected in 1927 in honor of Usui Sensei’s contributions, his life as example of being in service for others, and his quest for learning and living.

Today  do not anger,  do not worry,  be thankful,  work with diligence,  be kind to others.

Here is another translation for meaning:

Just for today…
I do not worry
I do not anger
I am filled with gratitude
My true self is reflected in my livelihood
I am compassionate and respectful for all living things, including myself
